The Board of Directors of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company elected Engineer Abdul Rahim Al-Buqai as its new Chairman during a meeting held on September 18, 2024. He succeeds Engineer Alaa Batayneh, who has been appointed as the Chief of the Royal Court.

The board also elected Engineer Abdul Karim Alaween as Vice Chairman. Alaween was temporarily appointed to the Board of Directors as of September 18, 2024, pending approval by the company's General Assembly to fill a vacant board seat.

Engineer Al-Buqai has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company since 2007 and has chaired several committees before being elected Vice Chairman in 2020. Engineer Alaween, who joined the company in 1978, has served as the company's CEO since late 2009 and has been a member of several board committees.
